Comprehensive Stoma Care Training for Personal Care Workers
A stoma is a surgically created opening on the body's surface that allows for the diversion of bodily waste, such as urine or feces, to be collected in an external pouch. Stomas are often created as part of medical treatments, such as colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy, and they can be temporary or permanent solutions for various medical conditions.
This 2-day course is designed to provide personal care workers with a comprehensive understanding of stoma care. Participants will learn about the different types of stomas, the importance of stoma care, and the skills required to effectively support individuals with stomas in their daily lives.
This course has a series of lectures, interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on demonstrations so that participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to provide quality stoma care to their clients.
Priority Health Care Training offers this course regularly.
