Recognise Healthy Body Systems
Course covers the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body.
The unit is applicable for personnel from emergency services, volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service. Licensing requirements for the storage and administration of drugs may apply.
Participants will learn about the basic structure and functions of the body systems and associated components, the processes, conditions and resources required by the body to support healthy functioning, protection from infection and active and passive physical activity.
The skills in this course apply to any worker who needs to use and interpret information that includes references to client anatomy and physiology and must be used in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

Entry Requirments
Participants physically able to work effectively with information about the human body and its healthy functioning manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role.
Pre-course study: Students may be required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face to face session depending on the course delivery mode.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.
Course Duration
Face to Face –10 hours (minimum) – full face to face course.
Blended delivery – 7 hours (minimum).
Online delivery with face to face Practical assessment – self paced online learning with an approx. scheduled 60 minutes face to face practical assessment in the training room.
Refresher training – 7 hours (minimum).
